Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC): Who Needs It and How to Fill It In

Got your eVisa? There's one more step before you fly. Almost every foreign visitor to Malaysia must submit the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) — a free online form — shortly before arrival.

What is the MDAC?

The MDAC is an online arrival declaration run by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. It replaced the old paper arrival card. It is not a visa: if your nationality needs a visa (Bangladesh does), you still need an approved eVisa and the MDAC.

When do I submit it?

Within the 3 days before you arrive in Malaysia. The form won't accept an arrival date further away, so don't try to do it weeks in advance — and don't leave it until you're at the airport.

Who needs to submit it?

  • Almost all foreign visitors — tourists, business travellers, students and work-pass holders — arriving by air, land or sea.
  • Every traveller separately, including children.
  • Exemptions exist (for example Malaysian citizens and permanent residents, and some other categories). If you think you're exempt, check the official site.

What you'll need

  • Passport details
  • Flight number and arrival date
  • Your first address in Malaysia (hotel or host's address)
  • An email address — your confirmation is sent there

Where to submit it

Use the official Immigration Department portal: imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.

The MDAC is free. Websites that charge you to "apply for MDAC", or call it a visa, are not official. Never pay for the MDAC itself.

After you submit

  • Keep the confirmation email (screenshot or print). Airlines may ask for it at check-in.
  • If your flight changes, update or resubmit your MDAC with the new details.
  • Carry your printed eVisa, passport, return ticket and hotel booking together.

Still need your eVisa? Apply online — or read the step-by-step guide first.

Why apply through us?

  • Every document checked before we submit — we catch blurry scans, name mismatches and missing papers, the most common reasons for delays and rejections.
  • Your whole family in one application — each traveller is tracked separately.
  • Pay the easy way — card, bank or mobile wallet, in Taka from Bangladesh.
  • Real people to help — message us on WhatsApp before and after you apply.
  • Live tracking and email updates at every step, and your eVisa ready to download.

evisamalaysia.net is an independent visa application service (a FLY CARE platform), not the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
