Malaysia eVisa for Families: Applying for Children and Dependents

A family holiday to Kuala Lumpur, Penang or Langkawi is a great trip — but every member of the family needs their own eVisa. Here's how to handle it without repeating the same work again and again.

Does every family member need a visa?

Yes. Each traveller needs their own eVisa, including babies and children travelling on their own passport. Each person also submits their own MDAC arrival card before the trip.

Apply for everyone in one application

With evisamalaysia.net you add the main applicant first, then add each family member as a dependent in the same application:

  1. Start an application on the apply page.
  2. Upload the main applicant's passport — details fill in automatically.
  3. Click Add dependent for each spouse, child or parent, and upload their passport and photo.
  4. Shared documents — the hotel booking, return tickets and the main applicant's bank statement — are uploaded once and reused for dependents.
  5. Pay for all travellers together.

Tips for children and minors

  • Keep a copy of each child's birth certificate — it may be requested to show the relationship.
  • If a child travels with only one parent, carry a consent letter from the other parent.
  • Children's photos follow the same rules: plain light background, face clearly visible.
  • Check that each child's passport is valid for at least 6 months from arrival.

Each traveller is decided separately

Immigration reviews every person individually, so one family member might be asked for an extra document while the others are approved. Our dashboard shows a separate status for each traveller, so you always know who needs what. Learn more in how to check your eVisa status.

  • Your whole family in one application — each traveller is tracked separately.
  • Pay the easy way — card, bank or mobile wallet, in Taka from Bangladesh.
  • Real people to help — message us on WhatsApp before and after you apply.
  • Live tracking and email updates at every step, and your eVisa ready to download.
